કેરળ પહોંચ્યું ચોમાસું, ગુજરાતમાં ક્યારે પડશે વરસાદ? જાણો બિપરજોય વાવાઝોડાની અપડેટ્સ – monsoon arrived
કેરળમાં દક્ષિણ-પશ્ચિમ ચોમાસાની શરૂઆતની જાહેરાત કરતા, હવામાન વિભાગે ગુરુવારે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, આગામી 48 કલાકના સમય ગાળામાં કેરળના બાકીના વિસ્તારોમાં, તમિલનાડુના કેટલાક વધુ ભાગો, કર્ણાટકના કેટલાક ભાગો અને પૂર્વોત્તર રાજ્યોમાં સ્થિતિ વધુ ચોમાસાનો વરસાદ ધીમે ધીમે આગળ વધવા માટે અનુકૂળ છે.
IMD ચીફ મૃત્યુંજય મહાપાત્રાએ કહ્યું, ‘અરબી સમુદ્રમાં લો પ્રેશરની સિસ્ટમની રચના, જે પાછળથી ખૂબ જ ગંભીર ચક્રવાત ‘બિપરજોય‘માં ફેરવાઈ ગઈ હતી અને તેના કારણે કેરળમાં ચોમાસાની શરૂઆતમાં વિલંબ થયો. કારણ કે તે આ વિસ્તારમાંથી ભેજ દૂર કરે છે.

હવામાન વિભાગે વરસાદ અને વાદળોની રચના બાદ દક્ષિણ-પૂર્વ અરબી સમુદ્ર પર પશ્ચિમી પવનોની ઊંડાઈ સહિતની તમામ સ્થિતિઓને પહોંચી વળ્યા બાદ ચોમાસાની શરૂઆતની જાહેરાત કરવામાં આવી હતી. આ સિવાય કેરળમાં છેલ્લા 24 કલાક દરમિયાન ઘણી બધી જગ્યાએ વરસાદ ખાબકયો હતો.
ઉનાળુ ચોમાસું સામાન્ય રીતે 1 તારીખના રોજ કેરળમાં લગભગ સાત દિવસની આગળ પાછળ સાથે શરૂ થઈ જાય છે, તેમ છતાં તે લગભગ બે અઠવાડિયા પહેલા આંદામાન અને નિકોબાર ટાપુઓ પર પહોંચે છે.
અલ નીનો (પૂર્વીય પેસિફિક મહાસાગરમાં અસાધારણ રીતે ગરમ સપાટીના પાણી) જે સામાન્ય રીતે નબળા ચોમાસાના વરસાદ સાથે સંકળાયેલા હોય છે તેમ છતાં હવામાન વિભાગે આ વર્ષે સામાન્ય ચોમાસાની આગાહી કરી છે.
ગુજરાતના દરિયાકિનારે પવનની ગતિમાં પણ વધારો
બિપરજોય વાવાઝોડું સક્રિય થતા ગુજરાતના દરિયાકિનારે પવનની ગતિમાં પણ વધારો થઇ રહ્યો છે. આ વાવાઝોડું ધીમે ધીમે ઉપરની તરફ આગળ વધી રહ્યું છે. ત્યારે ગુજરાતના હવામાન વિભાગના ડાયરેક્ટરે ગુજરાતમાં ભારે પવન સાથે છૂટોછવાયા વરસાદની આગાહી આગાહી વ્યકત કરી છે. જોકે, તેમણે એવી પણ આગાહી કરી છે કે, આગામી બે દિવસમાં ગુજરાતના હવામાનમાં ભારે બદલાવ નહીં જોવા મળે.
હવામાન વિભાગે શુક્રવારે એક ટ્વિટમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે વાવાઝોડુ બિપરજોય આગામી 36 કલાકમાં તીવ્ર બનવાની તૈયારીમાં છે અને આગામી બે દિવસમાં ઉત્તર-ઉત્તરપશ્ચિમ તરફ આગળ વઘે તેવી શકયતા છે. હવામાન વિભાગે જણાવ્યું હતું કે ખૂબ જ તીવ્ર ચક્રવાતી વાવાઝોડું 8 જૂનના રોજ રાત્રે 11:30 વાગ્યે પૂર્વ-મધ્ય અરબી સમુદ્ર પર આવેલું છે, જે ગોવાના પશ્ચિમ-દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમમાં 840 કિમી અને મુંબઈથી 870 કિમી પશ્ચિમ-દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમમાં સ્થિત છે.
સાયક્લોન બિપોરજોયના કારણે 10, 11 અને 12 જૂને પવનની ઝડપ 45 થી 55 કિમી સુધી જઈ શકે છે. પવનની ઝડપ 65 નોટના નિશાનને પણ પહોંચી શકે છે. ચક્રવાતને કારણે દક્ષિણ ગુજરાત અને સૌરાષ્ટ્ર સહિતના દરિયાકાંઠાના વિસ્તારોમાં હળવો વરસાદ અને ગાજવીજ સાથે વરસાદ પડી શકે છે.

Announcing the onset of Southwest Monsoon in Kerala, the Meteorological Department on Thursday said that conditions are favorable for gradual advance of more Monsoon rains over rest of Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, some parts of Karnataka and northeastern states during the next 48-hour period.
“The formation of a low pressure system over the Arabian Sea, which later turned into a very severe cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, delayed the onset of monsoon in Kerala,” IMD chief Mrityunjay Mohapatra said. Because it removes moisture from the area.

Despite El Niño (abnormally warm surface waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean) which is usually associated with weak monsoon rains, the Meteorological Department has predicted a normal monsoon this year.

Wind speed is also increasing along the coast of Gujarat as Cyclone Biparjoy becomes active. This storm is slowly moving upwards. At that time, the Director of the Meteorological Department of Gujarat has predicted heavy winds and scattered rains in Gujarat. However, he has also predicted that there will be no major change in the weather of Gujarat in the next two days.
Cyclone Biparjoy is set to intensify in the next 36 hours and is likely to move towards the north-northwest in the next two days, the Meteorological Department said in a tweet on Friday. The Met department said the very intense cyclonic storm was located over the east-central Arabian Sea at 11:30 pm on June 8, located 840 km west-southwest of Goa and 870 km west-southwest of Mumbai.
Wind speed may reach 45 to 55 kmph on June 10, 11 and 12 due to Cyclone Biporjoy. The wind speed can even reach the mark of 65 knots. Due to the cyclone, light rain and thundershowers may occur over coastal areas including South Gujarat and Saurashtra.
